Self-Reflection

Socrates famously said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” While this is most certainly true, self-reflection is challenging to practice. We live in a world that is incredibly fast-paced as our mobile phones are constantly buzzing, there is always someone wanting something from us (be it our partner, kids, friends, etc) and let’s not forget, Netflix usually has something new for us to binge on!

This is where we come in… we take you by the hand and take a deep dive into exploring and understanding your thoughts, feelings, emotions, values and actions. The results? You gain clearer perspective, increase self-awareness, understand your core values, feel less stressed/anxious, improve your relationships and learn to challenge your thinking/assumptions.

Mindfulness

Whether we are dealing with anxiety/depression or experiencing challenges with our partner or kids, life can be very stressful and sometimes managing the day-to-day can become overwhelming and feel unmanageable. Mindfulness is not just the latest buzz-word! Mindfulness involves maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations and environment, through a nurturing, gentle lens. We incorporate breathing and grounding practices into our sessions and also teach you skills to take away into your day-to-day life.

It is important for us to begin by understanding your life story and the challenges you are facing today. We then hone-in on what your goals are so that we can develop a customized approach to get you the results you are looking for.

If you are seeking individual counselling, we use a holistic integrated approach which draws on various evidence-based therapeutic frameworks. If you are coming to us for couples therapy, we utilize the well-researched Gottman Method of Therapy. If you are seeking coaching as a parent to help with parenting challenges, the highly effective Positive Discipline techniques are incorporated in our sessions.
