Meet Shazia

Shazia holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is Double Certified as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).

She strongly believes that each client has the capacity to reach their goals, strengthen their resilience and lead happier lives. She loves creating a safe space so her clients can unpack and with her non-judgmental nature, curiosity and compassion she helps people work through a variety of struggles. She is especially drawn to working with couples as she has seen her couples move from feeling stuck/unhappy in their relationships to creating loving/secure partnerships.

Shazia’s diverse counselling background draws upon two decades of experience helping individuals and couples navigate various challenges to lead more fulfilling lives. She believes in celebrating life’s joys as well as tackling the challenges- after all, therapy isn’t only about recognizing where we are feeling stuck but also about knowing when we are doing a damn good job too!

Outside of Powerful Mind Counselling, Shazia can be found spending time with her 3 boys and husband. With whatever little time that is remaining (we did mention that she has 3 boys, right?), she enjoys being outside in nature, reading, running and her weight-lifting routine.
