Powerful Mind Counselling
Meet Akash
Akash holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
He has accumulated a variety of skills, observations, and techniques over the past decade working in the field of mental health that has equipped him to become a Therapist.
Akash began his time in this field as a Behaviour Interventionist before transitioning to a Peer Support and Mental Health Worker assisting individuals both youth and adults in residential and hospice care settings who have been diagnosed with mental health and substance use concerns.
Through these experiences it has enabled him to develop a tool belt that includes patience, empathy, and nurturing that provides an environment in which clients feel there is safety, privacy, and comfort without judgment or stigma within a therapeutic space.
Akash’s approach to therapy includes cognitive and behavioural theoretical orientations, as well as acceptance and commitment, along with being trauma informed. He enjoys working with couples utilizing Gottman’s theoretical framework.
During his time away from the clinic, Akash enjoys playing hockey, travelling to new places, as well as spending quality time with friends and family.
