Meet Shazia
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and am Double Certified as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).
My in-person and virtual practice allows my team and I to work with individuals, couples, families and parents across all of BC.
I strongly believe that each client has the capability to reach their goals, strengthen their resilience and lead happier lives. I love creating a safe space so my clients can unpack and with my non-judgmental nature, curiosity and compassion I help people work through a variety of struggles. I am especially drawn to working with couples as I have seen couples move from feeling unstuck/unhappy in their relationships to creating loving/secure partnerships.
My diverse counselling background draws upon two decades of experience helping individuals and couples navigate various challenges to lead more fulfilling lives. I believe in celebrating life’s joys as well as tackling the challenges- after all, therapy isn’t only about recognizing where we are feeling stuck but also about knowing when we are doing a damn good job too!
Outside of Powerful Mind Counselling, I can be found spending time with my 3 boys and husband. With whatever little time that is remaining, I enjoy being outside in nature, reading, running and my weight-lifting routine.
